Advocate

advocate -

The definition of advocate:noun |ˈadvəkit|a person who publicly supports or recommends a particular cause or policy :he was an untiring advocate of economic reform.• a person who pleads on someone else's behalf care managers can become advocates for their clients.• a pleader in a court of law; a lawyer :Marshall was a skilled advocate but a mediocre judge.verb |-ˌkāt| [ trans. ]publicly recommend or support they advocated strict adherence to Islam.

Being an advocate is something we all do at some point in our lives. I personally advocate for students reading EVERY DAY! I encourage this by having reading time in our classroom, bringing in books for our classroom, reading to my students, offering rewards to readers, allowing podcasts to be posted about the books we have read, modeling being a good reader, hosting read-a-thons, and much more. These are all examples of ways I try to advocate reading. Some ways are subtle - you may not realize that by offering reading time I am advocating reading - other ways are very obvious - a student is required to read 30 minutes every night!
What are you an advocate for and how do you advocate for that thing? Please watch your spelling and I expect AT LEAST 5 sentences describing the thing you advocate and how you advocate. Remember - it can be in small ways or big ways.

  7. I advocate for people to help animals and stop cutting down the forests. I want animals to have a safe environment just like we do! I have always cared about animals and i dont think that will ever change. if anybody cared as much as i do this world would be safer and better to live in for them and for us. if we went and cut down all the trees the animals would invade our houses. I DONT THINK ANYBODY WOULD BE VERY HAPPY ABOUT THAT!!!

We are advocates for learning. We like it because it helps strech the minds of others. It helps because people can see it when ever they want. Podcasts you can do what ever you want. this is why we like learning.

  12. I advocate a lot and when I do one of the things are recess so does my mom. my mom and I know that you need 60 minutes of exercise a day here at my school we normally only get about 35 minutes. especially in middle school you only 7 or 8 minutes. when the government comes up with these crazy commercials about 60 minutes of exercises when they only let the schools have at least 35. I know they say well play outside when you get home but with all the home work they give us its almost imposable and on top of that what if some kids live in a bad neighborhood and they cant afford to move to a different house?

  13. What I advocate for is being in soccer. I just had my first meeting was on thursday and I am the only boy on the team. I advocate for soccer because it's not just a work out for you legs it's also for your arms, you work out your arms in soccer by being the goalie. Soccer is also really fun when you kick it in to the goal it seems like you are the winner of the game because it's really hard to make it into a goal with a lot of people on each team. It's also hard because once you get worn out and the game isn't over you can't just stop.
